If you are to do one act of kindness today; do it for yourself.

We have our own personal battles. Addiction, Mental Health, Disabilities, Homelessness, Hopelessness…the list could go on.

One simple act is synonymous with overcoming these demons, a simple act of kindness.

It doesn’t require much, and you don’t have to be loud about it.

All it takes is a simple helping hand or asking for one.

Finding someone in need and giving them a helping hand.

Even if you don’t want to do it for anybody else; do it for your own good, I promise you — it’s the most wonderful aphrodisiac.

I remember clear as day, when I was down in a hole; I felt helpless, it seemed that was it — life would end.

But it didn’t.

It was a helping hand, one that I wasn’t familiar with and one that I didn’t much care for.

Because I had forgotten to care for myself; I convinced myself I deserved to be in the position I was in.

But the helping hand pulled me out; against my will.

Showed me what a beautiful world was out there, whilst I was hiding deep within a dark hole.

It takes time, and it’s not easy.

But I promise, it works. And it gets better.

But if Tom Hardy can do it; you can too.

Help destigmatise addiction and mental health.

Lend a helping hand. :)

I failed to learn the piano, so I decided I’d play the keyboard instead. //All aboard the Crazytrain.
