Baskerville & Georgia are great replacements IMO

That doesn’t answer the question of why Times New Roman has been pronounced one of the word’s most offensive typefaces. I trained and used to practice as a graphic designer and work as an educator in the creative industries and I don’t see why it would be on that list. It’s not a personal favourite; I favour a san serif myself but I’m damned if I can see why TNR would be considered naff.
