Haha, fair point. That being said, from my experience, occupying the “sensible middle” is all about compromising on everything, lest anyone think you’re an idealist, or a contrarian.

As for your point on Scotty and pensions, it’s a very good one. The percentage of working age welfare recipients is far lower than it was 20 years. Even those things aside, Scotty’s attempts to discourage the use of services meant to be the bedrock of Australia’s social contract, and depict it as unfair gaming of the system, is absolutely scandalous.
