London Day 1

After a long and harrowing journey full of delays and turbulence, we made our way to London for the first day of our journey through Europe. London is like a ghost town on christmas day. It was interesting to visit many of the tourist attractions and see them mostly empty. We felt like we were getting a VIP tour of the city. Walking 10 miles in a day is tough, especially when you are running off 2 hours of sleep, fresh off a red-eye flight, but we are certainly glad we powered through it.

We checked in Astor hostel around 11 and had a quick lunch in the neighborhood. Since it is Christmas day, there are no public transportation. We started walking around Hyde park. It reminds us of the Boston Commons but 10 times bigger. It is a beautiful day and it was not very cold.

It’s always been my dream to have a photo taken of me in a (literally) shit filled red telephone booth!

One of the most important attractions in U.K. — Phone booth! Believe it or not, there was a pile of poop inside.. ☹

Then we walked to the Picadilly Circus, which, apparently is the Times Square of London.. It wasn’t that great, but there was definitely more people than the other places we had just been to

Big Ben was pretty big… It’s a beautiful structure up close and personal..
But at the end of the day, the real goal is just to photobomb Andy as much as possible. ☺ More tomorrow…
