Free NaNoWriMo Scrivener Template

It’s been a productive week here at Byzantine Roads. Time to develop a NaNoWriMo Scrivener Template

First, I was playing on Canva and printed up a Series of NaNoWriMo 2016 Progress Calendars.

Then I started setting up a new novel to try. I realized I didn’t have a 30 day Novel Template, so I decided to try to develop one.

First, I had 30 Text Docs and was going to organize them by chapter, but decided to integrate the Pomodoro Technique.

Pomodoro, for those who don’t know, is a productivity technique where each task is worked on in a 25-minute sprint, followed by a 5-minute break after 4 Pomodoro (2 hrs of work) you take a longer break.

So each day is set up with 4 Docs underneath it. Each doc should be a Pomodoro, and you should be able to complete 500 words per Pomodoro, easily making your goals.

I then took a quick look at the Hero’s Journey and filled in each day with a component: Status Quo, Call to action, Highpoint….Etc, until I was happy with the generic summary. So each day’s writing assignment can be found in Scrivener’s inspector.

It seems fun and seems like it will work well with my Calendars, so Here it is. The .zip file contains both a template and project. I’ve released it under a CC Attribution/Non-Commercial 4.0 License. So long as you link back here, you’re free to modify and change it to your needs and share however you like, so long as you don’t charge for it.
