you can’t make people like you.
you can’t make people love you.
you can’t make people do right by you.
all you can do is set the expectation. model the behavior; police the boundary and give people the freedom to follow their self-interest…
and if, when their interests don’t align with yours you gotta let it go…
life is too short to be wasting it on teaching someone how to love you, especially when loving you is the easiest decision one could ever make; because you’re self-evidently lovely and worth it.
