the Classical Program presents UNCHAINED MELODIES (2.24.15)

Dear Listeners,

TONIGHT; leave your ORCHESTRAS AT HOME!

Thomas Adès hides under Hamlin Hill, Schumann on the prophethood of birds, David Greilsammer’s Socratic dialogue, and Dvořák thinks.

Tonight, a condensed compilation, (which comes from the Latin compīlō, meaning to snatch together, carry off, or plunder) of works I have been meaning to play. Let me preface by saying there is no intended meaning behind tonight’s choices, but knowing myself, I will do my best to come up with one.
