National Nutrition Month!

March is National Nutrition Month

National Nutrition Month® is a nutrition education and information campaign created annually in March by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. The idea is to focus attention on the importance of developing healthy eating and physical activity habits.

The theme for 2017 is “Put Your Best Fork Forward,” meaning that each bite counts. Taking even baby steps with food choices can add up over time. The 2015–2020 Dietary Guidelines for Americans suggest starting with small changes in order to make healthier lasting changes you can enjoy. The main theme for National Nutrition Month® can mean to make these small changes in eating habits even if it’s one single forkful at a time. So whether you are planning meals to prepare at home or making selections when eating out, Put Your Best Fork Forward to help find your healthy eating style.
