CESS Project Development

Continued the development of the v0.4.0_alpha version (the first version for internal testing). Development progress in blockchain network, development components, and EVM module.

1.CESS Blockchain:

  • Released CESS blockchain network v0.4.1. Link
  • Optimized the off-chain working machine. Link
  • Changed the method of calling transactions to the signature method to limit who can call update_price to update the price on-chain.
  • Added a loop when the off-chain working machine is having errors– it erroneously re-executed when errors happened in one of the following steps: price reading by the off-chain working machine, obtaining the signer from the keystore, and having the signature on-chain. It loops up to 5 times and stops after.
  • Fixed a bug in miner rewards calculation

Internal Test:

1. The internal test of the CESS decentralized storage system based on the iterative version of the BSC testnet ran successfully.

Activity link:(https://www.cess.cloud/)

Total reward: 3,000,000 CESS Tokens

Current participating nodes: 327

2. OneBlock released the monthly technological report about projects in the Substrate ecosystem on June 9, 2022. The monthly technological report has mentioned CESS’s latest technologies, important submission, and community development strategies, etc. See details.

Community Activities

1. CESS had a fun quiz event on twitter with rewards given to 3 randomly selected participants. See: Cumulus Encrypted Storage System (CESS) (@CESS_Storage) / Twitter

2. Organized interactive activities on CESS Discord.

3. CESS is preparing for the 2022 Polkadot Decoded conference (June 29th to 30th). CESS will be giving out presentations in 3 venues– New York City, Hangzhou, and Buenos Aires.

  • Optimized the underlying code of the three modules: file-bank, segment-book and file-map.
  • Added EvmAddresses to store the mapping relationship between Substrate address and EVM address, which means the mapping relationship is stored when the claim_accout binding operation is executed.
  • Fixed the bug that blocks could not be confirmed when the consensus was withdrawn improperly in the network
  • Fixed the bug that the user transaction fee in CESS network was occasionally too high

2. Storage Miner (CESS-Bucket):

Released Storage Miner v0.4.0 version. Link

  • Fixed the bug that the storage node failed to read the file
  • Fixed the error that happened in the internal server when querying an nonexistent file

3. Scheduling Service (CESS-Scheduler):

Completed the development of scheduling service v0.1.0 and released the v0.1.0 version on Github.

  • Completed the server environment installation and service deployment

Internal Test:

1. The internal test of the CESS decentralized storage system based on the iterative version of the BSC testnet ran successfully.

Activity link:(https://www.cess.cloud/)

Total reward: 3,000,000 CESS Tokens

Current participating nodes: 327

2.Internal test activities preparation.

Community Activities

1. On May 30, 2022, the CESS team was selected to participate in the Web3 Bootcamp Training Course.

2. CESS Marketing lead Molly Zhang and Marketing Manager John Humphrey were being interviewed for Web3.0 bootcamp to share the project’s key technologies, market advantages and aspirations.

3. CESS submitted speech materials to the team of Polkadot Decoded Conference. Polkadot Decoded, the largest event in the Polkadot ecosystem in 2022, will be held from June 29th to 30th. The conference attracts top developers and projects to collaborate to facilitate the development of Web3.0. The event will be held in 4 venues, respectively in New York City, Berlin, Hangzhou, and Buenos Aires. Link
