The majority of college conferences crowned their champions this past weekend. I was lucky to be on hand to watch Amelia Morrow ’18 race to a sixth-place finish at the American Rivers Conference Meet in Dubuque. The Norse finished runners-up to Wartburg on a course that was shortened to 5k due to muddy conditions.

Meanwhile, in Columbus Mary Arch ‘17 was part of a trio of Hawkeyes to record a personal best at the Big Ten Championships. Mary ran 22:37.1 for 6k to finish seventh for Iowa and eighty-fifth overall.

In Ottumwa, Janet Nyamboneka ’18 ran a 5k PR of 19:09.5 to help the Iowa Central Tritons win the Region XI Championships. Janet’s eleventh-placed finish earned her Second-Team All Region Honors. Next up for Janet and the top-ranked Tritons this weekend’s National Championships in Albuquerque.

Olivia Parrott ’16 concluded her college cross country career competing at the Midwest Conference Cross Country Championships in Galesburg, Illinois. Congrats, OPa! Here’s to many more miles (and happy-skipping) post-college!

On the opposite end of the spectrum, Anna Lindower ’19 wrapped up her debut season at Denison College in the North Coast Championships.

Emily Bywater ’17 has continued her racinging career with the Purdue Running Club. The Boilers competed this past weekend at the NIRCA Cross Country Great Lakes Regional finishing to the defending champion Wolverines.
