Nice try. Explain to me why it is necessary to dismantle our safety nets in order to combat fraud.

Perhaps I read into your post sentiments that weren’t there. In my experience people who bring up anecdotes of welfare fraud are proponents of “welfare reform” which, and lets be honest here, are those who’s ultimate aim is abolition of the programs, same as proponents of “common sense gun laws” ultimately seek to disarm all civilians, or those seeking a “moral, sensible middle ground on abortion” just want it banned. As far as the “private” businesses attached to the industries I mentioned are concerned. Where have you been? When utilities cover up massive lapses in infrastructure maintenance to the point that pipelines rupture and take out whole neighborhoods, is it the companies that pay to make it all right? No. they might put up some money at the start, as they should, then hike rates because you know, they’ve got to recoup their losses, and from where I stand, ratepayer==taxpayer. When banks engage in fraudulent practices to the point of collapsing the world economy, do they take responsibility? Hell no! they get Tax Payer Funded bailouts. Who pays for new arenas? The multi-Billion dollar entities that want them? Psh! fuck that! Taxpayers do. Usually to have those sports franchises renege on most of the promises made during the negotiations by which they got their new playgrounds.

But if you weren’t indirectly advocating welfare reform, I apologize, I misinterpreted your message.
