The Most Transparent…and Scariest Letter I’ve Ever Written

Just keep creating.

To My Network:

I need help.

In February of 2015, I took a job with a fantastic technology company that I thought would be a game changer for not only the world but for myself as well. I was asked by the CEO/Founder to leverage my network to build a sales pipeline for enterprise (Fortune 500) deals, with some of the biggest brand names in the world. In less than four weeks, I created a sustained pipeline of over $1.2 million with brands such as Chevrolet, AT&T, 7-Up, and Monster — to name just a few.

Two weeks later the company announced that they’d finalized a deal for Series C funding totaling just under $100 million. Five days later, after the CEO asked me to cancel all pre-arranged activity with clients, he suddenly stopped speaking to me. I was let go “for not being a good cultural fit.” The company was building something truly remarkable behind the scenes, but showing the public something very different. They needed the rapid deal flow that I created to cement the Series C funding. Nothing they did was illegal, and I’ve seen it many times before in the tech startup world. In the 24 months since my departure — incredibly, there have been over 20 sales, marketing and legal professionals hired and fired.

An insider and friend once described the CEO/Founder to me as, “twice as talented as Steve Jobs but with half of the social tact.”

I tell you all of this because I immediately became unhireable as recruiters view me as a “job-hopper”. In less than three months, I went from headhunters calling me every week to nobody returning my calls.

So, I started a consulting business where I help organizations determine how to use new technologies to automate their business processes. Basically, I show clients how they can save money by leveraging technology to increase productivity. In less than 24 months, I’ve sold over $250,000 in deals to 21 clients and honored to have led a virtual team of up to 14 people at one time. It’s been an incredibly successful venture in just a short period.

Yet in spite of this, I’m in serious trouble.

I’ve only taken three months salary and am keeping afloat with my personal credit cards and savings account. I’ve done everything to make this work, including working a graveyard shift at an Amazon Prime distribution facility. As of September, I will have to sell my house and pull my kids out of daycare.

I’m not looking for a handout. I just want to work. I love my work. I am a technology enthusiast. I have deep knowledge of the newest technologies and love figuring out how to connect those technologies together in order to achieve a business result. I know and have proven time and time again that I bring value to the table. I am reaching out to my network for one of three opportunities:

  1. Hire me full-time to help you build, automate or manage your entire technology stack. Please feel free to email me— or text/phone me at 808.868.5255 (an example of my work: this number is tracking attribution, being tagged and routed to myself and my team…very powerful for sales or marketing teams).
  2. Book me for an initial consultation to build, automate or manage your marketing technology stack. After 45 minutes with me, I will be able to tell you what is or isn’t working and make the exact recommendations about what you should be doing. You can learn more about the call and book me here:
  3. If you can’t help directly, please “Like” this post and share it with your network(s) in any way that you see fit.

Stay well,

Christien Louviere
