Can’t agree more with this. Extremism and extreme populism thrives in times of economic hardship and uncertainty, or when groups feel they’re disenfranchised and have no meaningful future.

The political shift away from normal people’s interests and the focus on making things easy for large corporations is why all these horrifying ideas are coming back into fashion.
