California’s water industry will come together in Sacramento on October 17 for a first-of its-kind “water loss” summit.

CMUA is a cooperating sponsor for the event, which is designed for water and utility industry professionals, government officials and regulatory agency personnel.

Experts will describe new and pending requirements for all urban retail water suppliers to submit validated water loss audits annually, soon-to-be-developed water loss performance standards, and available technical and financial assistance.

The forum will tackle a variety of questions, such as:

— What do we now know about the scope of the water loss challenge?

— How will the audit data be used?

— What are next steps for water systems and how will this impact capital project priorities, funding, and policy decisions by water agency governing bodies?

The Oct. 17 water loss forum is scheduled just weeks after a new Oct. 1 deadline to submit the first water loss audits. Legislation chaptered two years ago (SB 555) set the new requirements.

More information about registration and pricing, exhibition space and sponsorship opportunities are available in this flyer or on acwa.com.
