Ladies, I’m a MAN…not a Punching Bag
If you step to me like a man, I’ll treat you like one….
Okay, so I’m getting sick of women hitting men and hiding behind this “idea” that no man is supposed to hit a woman. Am I against domestic abuse? Absolutely! However, this idea that you women can inflict violence on another man and he can’t do anything about it in return is the second biggest lie next to “money doesn’t buy happiness”. This seems to be really prevalent within the African American community. African American women who, sad to say, are fatherless tend to have this sense of entitlement to feel as though it’s okay to attack a man physically and verbally. And 99% of the time it’s the wrong man they’re taking their anger out on. Should I understand and sympathize with their anger, sure. But that doesn’t mean that I should turn the cheek every time a woman wants to treat me like a crash dummy.
This morning I saw a video of two teens in a classroom engaging in an argument, the girl felt the need to say, “You know what? I’m about to spit in your face….” So she approached the boy, which made the boy get into a defensive stance as he should. The girl began to lunge at hit, then she spat in his face. In return, the boy knocked her SMOOTH the F out….As he should have. What also pissed me off about this video was that after ol girl received the “Pacquiao Knock Out Special” the teacher told the boy, “YOU DON’T HIT A GIRL!!!” Like that’s going to make him feel bad for doing what was right. I don’t care if you’re a man/woman/gay/transgender, if you feel the NEED to spit into somebody’s face, you absolutely deserve everything that you get in return. Needless to say that the arguing boy and girl were indeed African American. My thing is this. Women, especially black women, if you’re fearful of a man hitting you or any other woman and you “know” that it’s wrong for a man to hit a woman, why do you feel that you have the right to attack a man, like a man and expect nothing to happen in return?
So let’s say Jay-Z defended himself by hitting Solange back. Although she felt the need to go HAM on him, why would Jay-Z be in the wrong for defending himself by hitting Solange back? Would he be considered a MAN or just a plain ol MONSTER? But here’s something interesting, according to black women, if a man doesn’t hit a woman and walks away peacefully he’s considered a chump, a wimp, a sucka, or worst of them all….WEAK. And on the other hand, if he DOES hit a woman in defense he’s considered to be a chump, a wimp, a sucka, or (again) worst of them all….WEAK or a POOR EXCUSE FOR A MAN. This seems to be a damned if I do, damned if I don’t/Catch 22 situation for a man where he has no other choice but to LOSE.
