I was once told from someone who went from acting in Australia to America that it was quite a culture shock, how did you feel?

It was overwhelming at first, but the transition turned out to be less of a shock than I thought. Up until getting the role, the biggest production I’d worked on was an indie flick, so I definitely felt the added pressure. The biggest thing I had to adjust to was the pace. I had no idea how fast TV had to move. It’s like anything though, you do it enough, and eventually, it just becomes second nature.

How did you land the role in ‘The Mist’, did you audition?

I did. I self taped from Brisbane, Australia. Funny story though, casting originally didn’t request me to tape for it, but my manager at the time thought I should just do it anyway, We had nothing to lose. Then out of nowhere, a call came through about a month later saying I had the role. It was an incredible feeling.

Had you read any of Stephen King’s novels prior to landing this role?

I did. I read “The Shining” in high school for an English assignment. He really is a great writer.

From this, what roles are you looking to try next? Do you have any other projects coming up?

I just want to be as versatile as possible and really challenge myself. I like playing characters that are as far away from me as possible. I’d love to play the villain.
