We’re excited about blockchain-based applications and platforms that enable compelling and differentiated consumer experiences. So far, we’ve seen consumer interest in trading digital collectibles (CryptoKitties, RareBits), making fast and anonymous cross-border payments (Ripple,Nano), and exchanging decentralized and secure messaging (Telegram, Stealthy), among other use cases. As it becomes easier to conduct quick, cheap, and seamless transactions on top of blockchains, we know there are many more markets and products that are ripe for disruption from a blockchain-based protocol.
In particular, we’re looking for technical teams with a passion for building great consumer products. We’re hoping to invest in consumer-facing applications (or platforms that will host these applications) that will be deployed in the near term and will either facilitate new experiences or vastly improve the current ways we communicate or transact online.
