yapEX announced on the 17th that it has signed a strategic memorandum of understanding (MOU) with ICE&V, the NO. 1 real-time fishing reservation service application in Korea, to link the Internet of Things (IoT) and FinTech services.

ICE&V launched ‘Moolban Gogiban’, an app service that supports real-time fishing reservation function that integrates sea and freshwater for the first time in Korea in 2017.

The “Moolban Gobiban” app service has achieved 1 million downloads in just a year since its launch, and as of 2021, it has established itself as an essential fishing app with 500,000 members and 11,000 franchises.

Starting with this MOU, yapEX will actively cooperate technically to link IoT (Internet of Things) and FinTech services to the O2O (Online and Offline) platform services of the fishing and marine leisure industries operated by ICE&V.

It’s strategy is to increase the convenience of existing users and to build a joint business model by expanding the new user base through efficient high-tech IT infrastructure linkage.

CEO Choi Si-myung said, “Through this MOU, we plan to discuss various measures so that more efficient and convenient functions can be linked from the user’s point of view of the ICE&V ‘Moolban Gogiban’ app service.”

Meanwhile, according to the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries’ basic fishing promotion plan, the size of the fishing industry market in Korea is expected to reach 3.3918 trillion won next year, up about 12.3% from this year.
