Computer Science Education Week (CSEdWeek) is a wrap, but don’t let that stop your momentum! Whether you spent one hour or one week on computer science, you’ve just begun your learning journey toward developing the mindsets and skills required for tomorrow’s workplace. We know the week’s heightened focus on CS can inspire a beginner to take their first steps toward trying something new or encourage a veteran to celebrate the hard work and long hours they invest throughout the year.

CSEdWeek is a grassroots, community-based event. That’s why we made a conscious decision this year to forgo hosting our own events or activities in order to direct our full attention to celebrating the entire CSforALL community all CSEdWeek-long. Followers of our Twitter feed were treated to a wide range of highlights from our community’s efforts.

Our use of the #CSforALL hashtag suggests an open conversation to celebrate all contributions to the movement.

We support our community by empowering our members and making connections across individuals and organizations. For example, our school district workshops are designed to help school leaders write their own script for how they want to pursue the goals of CS for all students and draw from a wide range of content providers and partners to support their vision.

We could not agree more with the comments from our Chief Evangelist Ruthe Farmer’s HuffPo article CSEdWeek: All About the Ground Game:

We are fortunate to have such a large and diverse community that makes CSEdWeek possible — parents, volunteers, educators and supporters. I’d like to thank you all. Making CS a reality for ALL kids is a big job, and it is going to take all of us to get it done.

On each day of CSEdWeek, we focused on a different theme related to computer science education. Here are just a few of the things we saw happening last week throughout the community:
