Less Strunk, More King?

Great response! With the context of what you’re reading, it makes more sense. Your examples read more like a tour brochure than a story. And, the “couldn’t help but” excerpts make my teeth grind.

I’m more of King person as well. Though, some of his advice irks me as well.

As for my own pet peeve, it’s the one or two extra sentences that explain the meaning of a metaphor or event. The last book I read that did this was Broken Monsters. It completely kills the tone.

Anyways, you have a new follower.
