We do both actually - don't labeling things [in dashboard] that belong to the user http://take.ms/jSMJ0 and like in your example of YouTube, give users hint that this is 'your' time-off balance http://take.ms/XNhVL, cause we can’t just write “Balance,” otherwise it wouldn't be clear whom this is for 😄
