F1 Finally Has A Peer to Peer Ticket Exchange

I’ve been a big fan of Formula 1 for a very long time. Of course I love going to races like any other fan. There’s nothing quite like the sound of the engines, smell of burnt rubber, and energy of the crowd. Unfortunately, the really high cost of attending these races means we don’t go a lot. What’s the reason for the high cost?
First of all, they’re in far destinations all over the world. Nearly every continent has a race. You either need a lot of miles with an airline or willing to shell out an awful lot of money for the fligths sometimes across the world.
Then comes the hotels, which will up-charge their rooms for the high demand of race weekend.
Lastly and worst of all is the ticket prices.
The first time I was lucky enough to attend Monaco, the tickets we bought were in Grandstand K1 and they were $a lot.00. The annoying part was when we received the tickets in the mail (they don’t use electronic tickets in F1), we saw the face value printed right on the ticket. You could calculate what we paid with a simple formula ticket price * 2. A 2 x up-charge! Most of this cost came from
- A commision of the race ticket price (15%) to the seller.
- General straight up-charge of whatever amount the seller wanted.
- Shipping tickets with first class mail, that was also significantly upcharged.
- 5% credit card processing fee.
I’m not sure how they get away with this, but now there’s drszone.com.
This is the first peer to peer ticket exchange for F1 tickets. drszone.com was created to combat the awful processing, commissions, and mail prices that make our beloved F1 tickets so expensive.
It’s a peer to peer ticket exchange where someone posts how many tickets they have and at what price. Then the sellers can securely chat with someone interested in buying their tickets so they can meet to exchange or setup a delivery. It’s simple, easy, and won’t break the beak to buy some tickets.
