
Bat Boy Serves an Inspiration to Players, Community
Nathan Sankey, a 9-year-old boy from Tomah, Wis. is the nephew of Wayne Sankey, the manager for the Wisconsin American Legion baseball powerhouse Plover Black Sox. For years Nathan has been the bat boy for the Black Sox, until this past February when he was diagnosed with a rare form of leukemia. Below is an audio clip of an interview I conducted with Wayne Sankey about how this little boy inspired not just the players on his team, but the community around him as well.
