Kaepernick is a millionaire who could have sat or kneeled or stood and protested any way he wanted to and it would not have generated the disgust it did if he did it off the field, out of uniform, and on his own time. No one I know is free to inject their politics into their place of employment without getting fired on the spot. He chose to attack the anthem ceremony which he knew would make it all instantly an issue of his insulting a national symbol and relegating his ostensible cause to the background or discrediting it entirely. When Martin Luther King marched for Civil Rights, he insisted on marching with American flags flying.
