This piece reeks of overblown charges of racism. It spews out richly documented historically accurate episodes of the popularity of David Duke as evidence of pervasive white racism while neglecting the larger tidal wave of evidence showing that old style racism has steeply declined since the 1960s and is now a fading relic.
The twisted flood of verbiage cannot get past this fact: America twice voted in a Black American to its highest office. It also cannot obscure the Voting Rights Act and the Civil Rights Act of 1964. It cannot deny 50 years of Affirmative Action. It cannot hide the rise to prominence of many Black Americans and their popularity across all races. The article does not discuss the rise of the Black American middle class, Black professionals, and the increase in integrated neighborhoods and mixed race families. It is embarrassed by the achievements of Black Americans and evidence of their progress, because that would undercut its central thesis about how Blacks are being kept down by Whites.
The article uncritically assumes racism motivates opposition to the extreme aspects of the Progressive, Far Left, and BLM agenda. The agenda uses popular front causes designed to fan racial differences. Yet most American Blacks oppose the basic thrust of this destructive agenda. They recognize correctly it denies them participation in the American Dream, a place that they have earned and do not want to toss into the altar of political correctness.
There were millions of Whites who voted twice for Obama who did not pull the lever for Hillary. Whatever was in their hearts, these people cannot by definition be racists in the way they vote. Could it be they did not support Hillary partly because she called them deplorable? Could it be because they support the Martin Luther King vision of integration and peaceful advancement toward the American Dream and not the divisive identity politics of separatism, reparations instead of jobs, and permanent racial hostility designed to bring down America.
If you want to keep losing, by all means, pretend Whites are all racists. Keep saying they’ve all got hoods in the back of their closets and that explains Trump’s win. A little more scolding and politically correct censorship will also be a great way alienate more of them. Or, you might try calling for a positive vision of hope, racial harmony, free speech, and shared progress.
