You see you can’t rape someone in fusion, like at all. It’s all about trust, and you literally can’t do it unless the other person agrees. The only ‘’rape’’ that was portrayed in Steven universe was the fucking forced fusion, you even fucking mentioned that so I don’t know why you didn’t process it. That was made so clear by garnet. ‘’These were crystal gems! Shattered into pieces, they were buried together!’’ ‘’The were forced together, forced to fuse! This is wrong!’’ ‘’..Those gems weren’t asked permission. Fusion is a choice, those gems weren't given a choice, it isn’t right, it isn’t fusion’’. Did that scene mean nothing to you?! That was how this kids show portrayed rape, not fucking Sardonxy.

Only some of this is true, while yes Pearl thinks someone needs to control her, but it’s not in a sexual manner. Pearls are solely made to serve and have someone control them. Then Pearl joined up with rose, and she felt she had a meaning besides being just some servant, she actually had people to fight for. So when rose died she felt she lost meaning and that she couldn’t make dissensions on her own, hell that's what most of her character arcs about. She wanted to fuse with Garnet to feel like she was powerful and mattered, she . While this doesn’t excuse her actions, it wasn’t about wanting something sexual from Garnet. Not all fusion is about sex, or love. Some if not most is about power, Jasper wanting to fuse with Lapis is another example, she wanted to be more powerful.

Also what others are saying is true, they’re fucking alien rocks with no actual skin color, and while it’s completely fine to say garnet is black and represents a black women, BUT you have to understand they are fucking fictional rocks who don’t have actual skin color.
