A One Year Old Church
The one year mark is always interesting. When celebrating the first birthday of my daughter, it felt like only a moment had passed since she was born, yet I remember the glimmers of her personality that had begun to shine through. Her first year had in so many ways determined who she would become.
The same could be said for a one year old church. We recently celebrated our first birthday as a branch of ECF (www.ecfpaisley.org)in Ralston. You can watch the highlights of our celebration here. When I watched the highlights video, I realised that our first year as a branch was significant in determining who we would become in the future. There were glimmers of our personality beginning to shine through.
It is often said that our founding story directs our future story and so I thought it would be useful for my own memory but also for those in the future for me to reflect on some of the dynamics and aspects of our first year in Ralston. My plan is to write a short, honest blog on each of these reflections as a way of remembering our founding story.
