The price per student in Germany is about $600.00 per year, per student. That won’t even buy you a single college course in the U.S. Are they getting a better education for their money? (That is a good question to answer) As for providing for the poor, the U.S. has spent $22 trillion in the last 50 years on programs for the poor. (Much of it you and your parents are paying for. Your children will as well.) How much has Germany spent? The Federal Government took over student loans in the U.S., to attempt to give anyone the opportunity to get a higher education. Many of the programs for reduced cost are geared towards the poor, even if you’re here illegally. On it’s merit that sounds good, but what happened to the cost of education since the government took over student loans? (Once again, back to the statement or the reality.)

As far as governments doing something good- They do very well what they were designed to do. The rest of it they almost always fail miserably. You bring up an interesting thought on Germany. Has their foreign policy and their stance on immigration helped or hurt the country? What condition do the citizens of Germany live in? Does that apply to all of their citizens? Are there rich people and corporations in Germany, and how are they treated as juxtaposed to here in the U.S.?

As far as the government paying for anything because they decided what to spend taxes on- Answer: Taxes = “Your Money”. Would you let me choose what kind of vehicle you decide to own? Would you let me decide what kind of dwelling you should reside in? Would you let me choose what you are going to eat for lunch? Would you let me choose what you should or shouldn’t read, or study? Now think about who could make better decisions for you. Would it be me, or would it be you? Now remove “me” from everywhere in the last paragraph and insert the word “government”.

There’s no difference, my friend.
