I have been in Phnom Penh for the last 13 days. Most notably in this time I have: made a gaggle of friends (s/o to all my friends!), moved into an apartment, and started interning at the Cambodia Daily.

Friends are important. My fellow Red Raider (wReCk ‘eM tEch!) Austin Stewart lives here. He’s a bro’s bro. New friend Annie has been important as well. She is a fellow Texan and a real wild hen, which is a good term I just made up and you can use. Annie has introduced me to a pile of other friends too which has made my time here all the more enjoyable. Here is a picture of some of those friends and me and denim.

If you had your choice you would probably not want to touch anything in my apartment. Finding nice public restrooms has been vital for me. I sleep on a mattress on the floor. The bathroom has a gap at the top of the wall that goes to the outside. This makes the bathroom very hot. My fridge is an old Coca-Cola mini fridge. Here is a picture.

I’m working at a newspaper called the Cambodia Daily which is odd because I have never done anything journalistic until now. But hey, I’m giving it a go. I’m writing a story now about sewage that should be really exciting for you guys to read.

There is no public transportation in Phnom Penh so I walk a lot or I pay a guy a dollar and hop on the back of his motorcycle. I’ll leave you with a picture of me doing that.
