Snapchat’s UI is an atrocity. I will never be able to embrace that UI. It is just awful.

Ultimately I think you are overstating Snapchat’s worth. It’s just the new popular app du jour. The new Instagram if you will. There will be apps that displace Snapchat. Apple’s camera apps will continue to thrive alongside all of them.
