Canaan Partners Hiring a Technology Investment Analyst

Canaan Partners is hiring an investment analyst to join the technology team in our New York City office. The analyst role is a 2–3 year position ideal for someone looking to get experience investing alongside senior Canaan professionals. Canaan is a $675M fund with $4.2B AUM. Role

While Canaan analysts are not expected to lead deals, we are looking for highly mature individuals to operate alongside our senior professionals. An analyst at Canaan can generally expect to…

· Monitor trends vis-a-vis continuous market research and identify winners

· Develop relationships with Canaan portfolio companies, founders of future Canaan portfolio companies, service providers, and anyone & everyone in technology

· Conduct due diligence (competitive, financial & cap table, and industry analysis)

· Attend company pitch meetings and evaluate businesses

· Attend board meetings and provide ongoing company support

· Have a strong voice during partnership meetings as we discuss new and existing deals

· Help plan and execute Canaan community events

· Own specific projects that you’re passionate about from start to finish

Requirements

· A passion for technology and entrepreneurship

· Ability to effectively connect with key members of the technology ecosystem via written and oral communication

· Very strong financial modeling skills / understanding of key financial concepts

· Excitement to work in a small, relatively unstructured office environment

· 1–3 years of work experience in operations at a technology company, management consulting, investment banking or private equity

· An undergraduate and / or graduate degree
