Yes, it’s a Hail Mary. So what?

So Ted Cruz and John Kasich are colluding to stop Donald Trump from getting the nomination. So Cruz has decided he might score some votes by adding a VP to his ticket now. I know these are unusual and desperate moves. But, Cruz and Kasich are in a desperate situation. They are certainly down, but, they are not yet out. Whatever you think of the GOP nominating process, everyone can agree that it is not over. If it was done, the the ‘presumptive nominee’ wouldn’t still be complaining about the unfairness of it all. And so what do people expect the other candidates to do?

Let me ask you sports fans, what do you expect a team to do when there is a just a few seconds left on the clock and they’re down by a touchdown or less? Do you expect them to put the ball up, or take a knee? Sure, the odds are long, but, miracles happen. And when they do there are a group of fans who are elated, and another who are dejected. And those on the losing end say “Ahh, but for…” Yes, but for the fact that the prevailing team did not quit, the ‘presumptive winner’ would have actually won. If you’ve watched enough sports you will have found yourself on both sides of that situation, and there is one thing I’m sure of. If your team decides to simply take their ball and go home rather than take their one last shot, well, they might not be your team for long.
