Not so long ago David Branch (20–3) let it be known he was relinquishing his two WSOF titles and entering free agency. He did not wait around for long, and he let his fans know an announcement would be coming soon when he made his appearance on The MMA Hour. Well, the wait is over and as expected, the former two-division champ will have a chance at some UFC gold according to MMA Fighting.

Branch is not the same man he was when he first fought in the UFC back in 2011. During his time with WSOF he not only won the middleweight and light-heavyweight titles but he attended a lot of fan events for autograph signings and photo ops. Branch was even at the World MMA Expo in New York when WSOF unveiled their new logo and announcing offices opening in New York in December of 2015. A year later, he fought his last fight with the promotion in Madison Square Garden.

Will he go after two titles in the UFC? Probably not, since most of his career has been at middleweight, but one of those weight classes is likely to be in his sights. With all the fanfare for any MMA event in New York there is a good chance he will be on one of their next New York based cards. But no one would mind seeing him sooner.

Who would you like to see David Branch fight first in the UFC?
