I think you are my Indian brother from another mother. Why? I agree that “no” is never actually a flat out “no”…everything is negotiable from those boots at Lord & Taylor to those pearls I purchased in China — all dropped in price because I asked. I also agree that “no one gets extraordinary opportunities by taking the same approach everyone else takes.” Why? You’ll be elbowing so many people to get through a single and VERY narrow door if you try to approach a challenge using the same solutions your peers will consider. Net, net, these ideas make sense…my challenge is encouraging conservative job candidates to explore alternative strategies…some go out on a limb but others are impossible to budge — know what I mean?
