At the risk of sounding like a killjoy, the even year “magic” narrative has always been bullshit. The fact that they won in 10, 12, and 14 is just one extremely odd anomaly, aided by the fact that the Giants had a team (and a manager) who always put them in a position to win in the postseason. Of course, I know that creating these narratives is one the main reason we follow sports, so I’m not trying to argue that this “even year” idea should go away, but let’s not make it more than it is. There are no “baseball gods”.
