You just made me realize why I don’t enjoy traveling anymore: I’m not going anywhere I want to go! As a journalist, I travel constantly. I even tried to start a travel blog, which immediately fizzled. I had always wanted to do this, but suddenly I couldn’t muster the enthusiasm to leave my hotel room. Why?

The reason is obvious, but I couldn’t see it.

I was going wherever I was sent, but travel for the sake of travel is not interesting. Trying to make every work trip feel like vacation is hard, especially if you’re in a city or state that doesn’t particularly excite you.

No wonder I don’t feel inspired. I forgot that I’ve always wanted to see the Florida Keys, the Everglades, and Iceland. Maybe I should go.

Thanks!
