The Confidence Factor for Women: Missing Your Moment

Recently, I held an online Q&A session for the Confidence Factor for Women where I invited women from around the world to join me live online to ask their questions about negotiations and money. I brought on a few top financial experts for this session and hundreds of women joined the conversation live and thousands were able to watch the restream.
However …
There were countless women who missed their moment to learn how to create value and negotiate for larger corporate contracts and more, not because they missed the live broadcast, because their makeup and hair were not camera ready. What??
So, they took more time to send their inquiries offline via email instead. Literally hundreds of emails for us and we had to debate if it was worth it to reward people who had the opportunity to ask by honoring their “cosmetic” excuses.
Think of it like this — If you ideal mentor knocked on your door and allowed you to sit for 2 hours to ask any question you wanted, would you not open the door because your hair and makeup are a little “off” today?
Life may never give you a second chance to take a chance on an opportunity. The dialogue for women must eliminate to focus on the element of perfection in order to participate. For us as women, we create our own layers of expectation around perfection and will not participate unless everything is perfect. But once in a lifetime may only be available once in your lifetime — are you worried about appearance or missing your opportunity?
Hard decision, but worth considering.
