*“Can’t find a qualified small, minority or woman owned — MWDBE –

business or entrepreneur” must no longer be an acceptable

excuse

· CRIMINAL JUSTICE REFORM

*End Prison Pipeline

*Focus on Reducing Crime and Poverty through community based leadership with a “bottom up/inside out” approach

*Public Safety Cameras in high crime and illegal dumping areas remotely

controlled by both the police and community residents (See Camden, New Jersey)

*Utilize gun cameras in addition to body cameras for law enforcement

officers

*Citywide Public Safety District to secure dedicated funding to hire more

police officers, firefighters and to help pay down the City’s unfunded

pension liability debt

*Decriminalize Marijuana, Regulate and Tax It. Prohibit its use by minors and prosecute anyone driving under the influence like we do with alcohol.

*Stop “Redlining” and Predatory Mortgage Loans

*Lower cap on annual property valuation increases

*Properly appraise retail, commercial and industrial property for the

purposes of property tax payment

*More affordable Workforce Housing Construction

· CIVIC ENGAGEMENT

*Protect, Restore and Strengthen The Voting Rights Act

*Same Day Voter Registration

*On-Line Voting

*Eliminate Partisan Redistricting

*Increase Voter Education, Registration and Turnout

· ENVIRONMENTAL JUSTICE & PROTECTION

*Stop locating environmental hazards in minority neighborhoods

*Clean up Toxic Waste Dumps in Residential Neighborhoods

*Monitor Health Effects of Crushed Concrete Plants and Air Pollution

on Children, especially Minority Children

*Stop and Punish Illegal Dumping

· RETIREMENT SECURITY

*Must include, but go beyond, Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid

*Protect and Maintain existing Defined Benefits (DB) Pension Funds

*Start Saving Early Incentive Programs

*Properly regulate Investment Advisors and Money Managers Fees
