Racist beliefs are irrational; those beliefs can’t be changed by an appeal to rationality, even if the racist is rational in other areas of life, like career choices or finances. Usually, it takes something like a preponderance of personal experiences or a personal epiphany to change someone. It is not incumbent on the oppressed person to tone police themselves, especially for a term that isn’t offensive to begin with. I’m not advising being directly antagonistic or inflammatory, but there is no reason to apologize for being “pro-black” when that term is used as a counter to racism, not in promotion of black supremacy. You can use any term you want and an irrational person will still use that in defense of their irrational beliefs.
