Online gaming started in the 80’s from two undergrads who created a text-based fantasy adventure called MUD that would be connected by the APRANET. A global era of peer-to-peer connection was born. What is a DAO?
A DAO is an organization that is designed to be automated and decentralized. It acts similar to a venture capital fund, based on open-source code and without a typical management structure or board of directors. To be fully decentralized, the DAO is unaffiliated with any particular nation-state, though it makes use of a blockchain network or multiple blockchain networks.
Why is a DAO and blockchain important in Crypto Gaming?
When games are created without a central authority and without the influence of large corporations / company profits, it builds community, user retention and INCOME. Play to Earn is born. Gamers can now play their favourite games and earn in game items such as NFT’s and real currency, they can then sell directly for fiat or hold for potential longer-term gains due to a portion of the game being owned by them.
