  1. How long have you been a missionary? 20 years
  2. What lead you to missions? Interest in Spanish World/ culture/ husband’s desire to go
  3. Were there any Christians in your town when you got there? There were only 2 percent that claimed to be Evangelical and only two Evangelical churches
  4. What was the most effective way to teach unbelievers? The use of interns, ESL, martial arts program, building relationships
  5. Were there certain hardships that have ultimately been a blessing? Their daughter had medical difficulties and the people there, from every class, showed compassion to them during that hard time.
  6. Were there many different languages in the area? Spanish, several indian dialects
  7. When you were younger what did you think you would be doing at this point in your life? Occupational Therapy (but she does get to use this in missions)
  8. Do you have any children? two girls who go to Liberty University
  9. How can I be praying for the people you minister to? That their blinders would broken, revival, and for the children (60 percent of their population is children who are 18 years old and younger)
  10. What is the most interesting experience since you began your ministry? While traveling, a truck pulled them over and nine guys with rifles surrounded their car. They spoke in their language and Bob Buhler (Sharla’s husband) interpreted the phrase wrong but thankfully their was someone in the car who could diffuse any misunderstanding and they were able to leave without anything happening.
