You’re a goal-getter, a hard-working hustler who is not afraid to go after what you want. You are a fighter, but what happens when you lose your fight? What happens when you’ve been giving your goals, your family and friends, your business, and your dreams everything you’ve got only to run out of steam.

How do you get your steam back so you can surge steam ahead?

  1. Listen to what your body is telling you it needs. It can take a minute to figure out what your body is telling you it needs to refill. Give yourself a reflective moment and decide what healthy notion your body needs.
  2. Acceptance. When you are tired and find yourself in frustration, it’s best to learn to accept that it’s time to do something different. It’s time to find peace and rest. It’s time to find healthy ways to fill yourself back up.
  3. Inspiration. Gather up your favorite snack and reading material and dive in.

It can be especially helpful to ask yourself these questions to learn about what you need at the moment:

  • How do I feel? And what does my mind or body need?
  • Have I eaten?
  • Do I need to shut down work for a moment to gain clarity?
  • If it’s been an especially long week, what does effective rest look like for me? You will find what you need within your rest.

It can be easy to neglect your own needs while you build your goals and dreams. Make sure that while you are nurturing your goals, you find the time to nurture yourself too.
