Back in the days of big glasses and flares and Holden cars in Australia, I was a Biology student at the W.A. Institute of Technology (now Curtin University) enjoying the outdoors with Munsell Soil Color Charts and surveying plants (flora) and animals (fauna) of the south of Western Australia.
My other interests are creative writing and technical writing, reading, records management, watching and reviewing movies and documentaries, playing and reviewing games, and supporting others.
Medium, which I discovered in November 2018, has been a great outlet for me to write and share a mix of stories or articles, mainly related…
Can you change the future if you already know what it is?
It’s more a question of “can you change the future if you know what it was?”
If you think about experiences happening in a quantum field of space-time, then yes, if you have a premonition or a precognition that something is imminent; you may change a possible “future.”
You may, forewarned, stop something that otherwise may have happened, and of course, create something different that does happen.
I am not saying that you CAN or that you will, but you MAY. Also, you may not. …
What do the cups of green, yellow and brown liquid make you think about? They make me think about delicious liqueur teas at the Mad Hatter’s party in Alice in Wonderland! If you dreamt about these colourful concoctions, your associations would tell you something about the meaning of the dream.
Dreams are mostly produced by your imagining brain or by your sub-conscious mind as compensation for what you are not conscious of.
When you have issues to sort out, or puzzles, or when you’ve repressed (subconsciously pushed aside or forgotten something) or suppressed (purposely forgotten something) — -whadda, bing, bang…
“Back yourself” [ Urban Dictionary ]
It takes time to back yourself, especially if you have been weighed down by a lot of challenges and traumas, with little human support.
The Dalai Lama has said that the purpose of Life is: “To be happy.”
If the purpose of every living thing is to be happy or content, how do we get there?
Here is the path that I went through to BACK MYSELF.
Night-shadow heaved the bag of bats onto the Moon Mobile. He got into the driver’s seat and put the pedal to the metal.
He didn’t notice that Cat-nap had jumped onto the Moon Mobile’s tray. She had had enough of scraps and desired bat-wing soup.
Cat-nap tried to pick up the bag of bats, but it was too heavy. She espied a crate and placed the neck of the bag inside it. With her sharp claws, the hungry cat undid the rope tying the bag, getting ready to grab a bat when it flew out into the crate.
I love a rainbow sky
The core that is me
Rain-clouds make me fly
Silver pearls of wisdom fall
In Malaysia I was born
From my family and country I was torn
I love the colour brown
Tan is the shade you see
Look here and you’ve found
Hair black like the crow
Eyes, brown pools that never close
And a heart red as a rose
Beneath the shade is grey
Over the adopted child hung black clouds of guilt
Abused, she gasps for a gilded ray
She thinks she’s done wrong, she’s bad
Rainbows run away to…
In November 2018, when I found Medium, through a writer sharing their story in a Facebook group, I was immediately hooked. I was hooked because I LOVE reading.
The Medium-run Publications, like One Zero, Elemental, and Human Parts got me in, as well as the Anthologies and Collections that were promoted then.
At that time, the Medium-run Publications were heavily promoted, with links to these publications at the top of your Medium homepage.
1976–1982 were my teen years! Yes, those were the days of the “Sweet” and “Abba”, and pop music and glam pop got me through my teen angst.
In 1979 Sony released its first Walkman. This little personalised number held hours of musical happiness on the cassette tapes that it played. We took turns in my family, listening to songs on our treasured expensive family Walkman. Thanks Sony, for making music listening so portable.
