There was a school in UK that offered single or mixed sex science classes for GCSE. 40% boys went on to A Level sciences. Single sex girls classes did the same. MIXED sex class approx 15% girls went on to s ience A Levels.
The big difference : in mixed classes the boys sought attention and did the experiments whilst the girls they paired with wrote them up.
Where I stand here in UK the only thing holding girls back from taking the complete lead is the killer instinct that goes back to hunting as opposed to the nurture of home life.
So for the girls it is just ‘believe in yourselves and assert your capability’ and you can succeed.
