In the armed forces, “Charlie Mike” means “Continue Mission,” no matter what the odds.
Unfortunately, many veterans face long odds to continue the mission even after their service ends.
- Veterans are twice as likely as other Americans to be chronically homeless.
- On any given night, 57,849 American veterans are homeless.
- In 2010, it was estimated that 12,700 veterans of Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF) and Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) were homeless.
The primary mission of Charlie Mike is to give comfort to veterans in need by donating a pair of warm winter socks to the New England Center for Homeless Veterans for every pair of dress socks we sell. Many veterans who have served overseas viscerally recall the nearly euphoric feeling of slipping on a pair of warm, dry socks after days or weeks out in the field. While veteran homelessness is a complicated and daunting issue, we seek to partner with you to give our homeless veterans this same morale boost as they endeavor to come back “from the field” and re-enter society.

The secondary mission of Charlie Mike is to give the wearer an opportunity to show support for, and start a conversation about veterans. Veterans touch all of our lives, both directly and indirectly, and yet, it isn’t easy for civilians to express their gratitude or speak about veterans issues.
Our hope is that when someone sees the distinctive insignias on our customers’ socks, it sparks a conversation about our veterans, their contributions, and how we as a society can better harness the energy they bring to our public and private sectors.
Charlie Mike,
Brian, Camilo, Derek, Matt, and Mike
