Eighteen-year-old Jill-Lyn Euto had had her whole life ahead of her. She was working two retail jobs, while studying to be a paramedic. Jill-Lyn Euto had been 5’4”, and 115 pounds, with blonde hair, and a broad smile. She had been a pleasant young woman, who made friends easily. Euto was close with her family, and planned on spending Superbowl Sunday with them in January 2001. Unfortunately, she never showed up. Her mother went to her daughter’s apartment the next day, to check up on her. She discovered that Euto had been brutally murdered. There have never been any arrests in the case.

Jill-Lyn Euto was born on March 20, 1982, in Houston, Texas. She was the daughter of Joanne Browning. Jill-Lyn had two sisters — Jenna, and Cari. Her father was not involved in Jill-Lyn’s life. She also had a few uncles, and cousins.

Joanna Browning and her daughters had lived in Colorado Springs, Colorado for five years. They eventually moved in 1997 to Syracuse, New York, to get away from Colorado’s gun culture. Jill-Lyn’s mother thought that it wasn’t a good environment for her girls, because their elementary school had metal detectors on the doors. The last year they’d lived in Colorado, she had decided to homeschool her girls, in an effort to protect them.
