Kevin Martin, the thirteen-year-old Stellarton boy, who disappeared in May 1994. His remains were discovered six years later, and his murder is still unsolved.

In May 1994, Kevin Martin was a regular thirteen-year-old boy, living with his family in Stellarton, Nova Scotia. It was a rural mining town, with schools, grocery stores, parks, sports facilities, a library, and a great deal more. Though it was a small town, it was a fairly decent place to live. Kevin Martin lived on Mackay Street, just a short walk from Foord Street (the town’s main street), as well as nearby the junior and high school. He lived with his mother and stepfather (Bonnie Thomas, and Danny Thomas), as well as multiple siblings.

Kevin Martin had always been a nice quiet boy, who was kind to his younger siblings, and had a good reputation in town. He was a thin boy, with brown hair, and a nice smile. People liked him a great deal.

However, thirteen-year-old Kevin was going through some personal issues. Things weren’t going very smoothly at home, and he found himself struggling. He was at the age where he was becoming rebellious against his parents, and needed to figure out who he was. Things got so bad, that on two separate occasions, Kevin Martin had run away from home for short periods of time.

Kevin Martin had been bullied often at school. He wanted desperately to be part of a friends group, was looking for acceptance. About six months to a year before…
