The Unsolved Murder of Nicole Coleman

Nicole Coleman was a bright twenty-three-year-old student who was living in Austin, Texas. She had been dealing with mental health issues for years, and had been staying in a group home while getting treatment. On December 28, 2018, Nicole went missing. She was found brutally murdered three days later. Her murder is still unsolved.

Nicole Diane Coleman was born on March 3, 1995. She had two sisters. Her loved ones remembered Nicole as having a great sense of humour. She had been kind, and empathetic. Nicole loved nature — the ocean, trees, fireflies. She loved going for walks, and considered herself a spiritual person. Nicole loved writing poetry.

Nicole also struggled with mental health issues, which had begun when she was fourteen. It was something that she struggled with for a long time. She was diagnosed as bipolar, and schizophrenic. During her teen years, Nicole had suffered a ‘downward spiral’, which was difficult for her, and her family to deal with.

By the time she was eighteen, Nicole had started to get a handle on her mental health issues. Her parents had divorced, but both parents were still in her life. They wanted to be there for Nicole, and her sisters. While Nicole lived with her mother, Dawn Rayon, she attended Houston’s Lone Star College. She’d had a 4.0 GPA, and had managed to finish her Associate of Arts…
