4 Reasons Why College Grads Should Buy A House ASAP

Recently I was talking to some good friends who recently graduated university. We talked about a lot of things, but one of them asked me if they should buy a house now or wait awhile longer.

Of course, I told him that he should make sure he is financially secure enough to do so. Once I gave him that warning, I then presided to give him four reasons he should. These are the same 4 reasons I have stated below.

Owning A House Can Be Cheaper Than Renting

In many cases, the monthly mortgage payments of owning a house can be cheaper than renting a house. You will also have awesome tax advantages that renting won’t provide you. Plus, when you’re paying rent, you’re just leasing for a period of time. However, by buying at home, you’re at least investing into yourself. Why rent a car when you can own it?

Appreciation

Historically, real estate has had a long-term, stable growth in value. In fact, according to the National Association of REALTORS, median single-family existing-home sale prices have increased on average 5.2% each year from 1972 through 2014. In addition, U.S. Households are expected to rise 10 to 15 percent over the next decade, which means there will be a higher demand for housing.

Create Another Source of Income

Definitely the best reason on this list, I believe, is the fact that you can create another source of income. Instead of moving into and living in your new house, you can rent it out and make some serious money. As long as the rent is more than your monthly mortgage bill, you’ll definitely make a profit and increase your income!

Starting a Family

Fresh out of college, got a job in your field, and you and your partner are ready to make the big move. Why rent and waste money, when you can buy and invest in your small family? Also, one big plus is the fact that you can make your home, truly your home. Need to demolish a wall to create an open-concept floor plan? You can. Want to renovate a room to make a man cave? Guess what… You can! Renting often doesn’t allow those privileges.

So, those are four reasons you should buy a house! Definitely share and like!

Thanks for reading! You’re awesome!
