A few things

  1. After doing the research paper for Politics 101, I find Vietnam not that different from North Korea. We may just too good at keeping the “prison camps” a secret.
  2. I don’t feel like doing any paper now. I have three more. But after hours staring at the computer’s screen, my eyes are burning.
  3. I miss Chinese language.
  4. I wonder if my life is better than my friends’s
  5. I want to go skiing in the Winter Break, which is coming soon…
  6. Chairman Ho Chi Minh is Vietnam’s Supreme Leader. A whole lot of propaganda about him in schools: “Long live the glorious Communist Party!” — No one ever explains the term “communism” back in Vietnam, they just say how great it is.
  7. A girl has the same name as me wrote in my high school yearbook: “I believe Nguyen Minh Chau will never choose the easy path to walk on. Keep it that way.” I am trying my best, Chau. I am.
  8. I have no idea why my parents let me study Journalism, it’s like a one-way trip. I can’t go back to Vietnam and get a job at a national newspaper (only place they pay well) after all this readings and researching about communism, propaganda and censorship!
  9. I really don’t know how to enjoy life.
  10. I am the kind of girl who moves forwards by turning around and walking backwards. Therefore, I would be able to see everything that I have passed to regret, to miss, to feel nostagic, to cry, to complain, to wish I could turn back in time — and have no idea where I am going, why I am going there, what is ahead of me, what is the plan, who am I, etc. Hahahahaha.
